Furniture and home goods company Wayfair is set to open a brick-and-mortar store in Houston’s Highland Village in River Oaks under its luxury brand, Perigold, in spring 2025. This opening will mark the first physical location for the e-commerce company.

“Perigold is the destination for luxury home,” said Rebecca Ginns, Global Head of Perigold. “Prior to our launch in 2017, consumers in particular had limited access to the best in home design. No retailer offered the breadth of categories, styles, and designer-loved brands we have, all in one place. With this expansion, we are excited to increase access to our offering with physical store locations.”

Perigold’s Physical Expansion Efforts

The Houston Perigold location will be followed by another opening in Florida’s West Palm Beach in fall 2025, representing significant expansion efforts for Wayfair and the Boston-based luxury brand.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of our Houston storefront,” Ginns said in a press release, “further expanding Perigold’s presence in a market where we know there is a strong appetite for design and a lot of culture. Houston will be our first-ever store. The team and I couldn’t be more excited to bring these amazing brands together and become a part of this community.”

Offerings of Perigold’s Physical Locations

Perigold’s Highland Village store will offer 20,000 square feet of high-end furniture and home decor and access to designer brands in the form of small “shops” featuring products from design partners. Perigold’s planned West Palm Beach location will be nearly 30,000 feet across two floors, including an outdoor balcony. The Houston and Florida locations will include spaces designed by Marie Flanigan, Evan Millárd, Julie Neill, and Jessica Davis.

At least in their planned Florida location, the physical Perigold store will reportedly include products from more than 150 design brands, including Century, House of Rohl, Theodore Alexander, Scalamandre, Vanguard, OLY, Visual Comfort, and Stark Rugs.

Why Houston and West Palm Beach?

In a statement to Chron, a Perigold spokesperson explained the company’s choice to open its first physical store in Highland Village: “Houston is a large and growing market where we already have a strong customer base, and believe we can be the destination for all things design. Our offering spans all styles and spaces, brought to life via our unique designer-curated partnerships and brand shops, positioning us as a one-stop experience for both the trade and design enthusiasts looking for high-end, beautiful pieces for their home.”

By opening in Houston, Perigold aims to make luxury home goods accessible to a broader customer base while creating new opportunities for designer partnerships. The Texas market is a significant point of interest for the brand, and getting a foothold in Houston with its first physical store will serve as an important milestone toward future progress. The Florida market was likely chosen for the same reasons.

“2025 will mark a new growth chapter for the brand as we enter into brick-and-mortar,” the spokesperson continued, “in addition to other partnerships and marketing efforts that will help us meet and engage with our audience in new ways.”

Engagement, Connection, and Sales

The in-person opportunities of a brick-and-mortar store are not lost on Wayfair as they make this step into physical locations. While the Perigold brand has found significant success online, physical stores naturally create customer engagement and provide opportunities to connect more closely.

“We’re eager to connect with our guests in person and know there are a number of exciting happenings on the calendar for the Houston area in spring,” the spokesperson stated, “so [we] are balancing the realities of construction timelines with our excitement to open.”
